School Meals
Many children take advantage of the good-value meals cooked in our own kitchen.
Our mathematics curriculum is based on the national curriculum and is bolstered through an imaginative whole-school approach called "Big Maths". There is a strong emphasis on developing children's skills in number work, problem solving and mental arithmetic. A range of teaching and learning strategies are used, strongly supported by ICT and regular assessment. Below you will find a useful link the National Curriculum programmes of study for key stages 1 and 2 and some information on Big maths.
National Curriculum programmes of study: key stages 1 and 2
At the end of Key Stage 2, the percentage of children achieving 'age-related expectations' or higher in the National Tests is above the national average.
We have made our calculation policy readily available at the bottom of this page. This will hopefully de-mistify the methods used in primary school today and allow you, as parents, to help your child more effectively at home when required. You can also find some useful maths videos from Oxford Owls below.
Two great sites which we use to help support homework and maths which the children have logins for are Timestables Rockstars and MyMaths. If your child doesn't have a login please speak to the class teacher. You can fnd links to these sites below.
