About Our School
Find out about our school and classes; staff and governors; safeguarding and our latest OFSTED report.
This is a larger-than-average, vibrant and happy primary school set in the village of Duffield in Derbyshire. The school has a strong reputation for high academic standards and excellence in sport, music and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. We enjoy a beautiful setting with expansive playing fields, a nature reserve and well-developed outdoor areas. Duffield is situated within easy commuting distance of Derby and Nottingham, and is also close to areas of outstanding natural beauty such as the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District. We generally have around 300 pupils on roll.
The school has a very strong focus on supporting every pupil to achieve their learning potential, regardless of ability. We also hope that by the time they leave the school they will have developed a wide range of interests, as well as open minds, healthy bodies and a love of learning. We will have encouraged them to be caring people with an informed understanding and concern for the world around them.
The school site also hosts an independently-run Pre-School and a Schools Out Cub which offers childcare during term times and throughout school holidays. Both of these organisations are highly popular and offer an important service to the community.
I am very privileged to have a highly experienced, caring and dedicated staff team who devote themselves wholeheartedly to the school, ably supported by a well-informed and involved team of governors.
